Do you ever hold others up to a measure you don’t even use on yourself? Expecting “Mr. Perfect” when you certainly know you aren’t “Little Miss Perfect” or maybe you are delusional and think you are perfect? Or do you continually bug your kids about tidying their room or picking up after themselves?
I'm here to say stop! If you are like me you don’t like it when others have expectations of you so why do you think they will like it anymore. Get back to basics and determine what is really important in life and then let the rest go. This is truly a challenge when you like to control things as many of us do!

I am not in this world to live up to other people's expectations, nor do I feel that the world must live up to mine.
This week I challenge you to write down what is really important to you in one area of your life. Start small - with something like household chores and then be prepared to let everything not on the list go! If that exercise in "realistic expectations" goes well you can always raise the stakes! I'd love you to share your list and tell us how it's going.
