This story of being real comes from my sister Cathy who has always come across at work as strong, powerful and in charge. She is a great organizer and her manager knew it so she asked her to organize a team-building day. One of the exercises she planned was to talk about the strengths of others on the team based on a "personality style" questionnaire they had done. Cathy was the only one on the team with a "dominant" personality.
Ask Diane: What do I do when I don't want to reveal myself out of fear of being judged? Diane’s Rule: Be open and willing to reveal who you are and what you believe and you will not spend your life being someone you are not.
"Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."
Take a chance and have a conversation with someone where you reveal something more about who you are on the inside.
